We're a small bakery in Elizabeth City, built to bake a bunch of bread — but there's only so much that comes out of the oven each week. So we save it for our regulars first. Join the list, claim a standing weekly loaf, and let fresh bread just… show up.
We'll email you the moment we open in Elizabeth City. When ordering goes live, we'll invite people to sign up in the order they joined — so an early spot is a good spot.
We could bake a big pile of loaves and hope they sell — but that's not the bakery we want to be. We'd rather know exactly who we're baking for, so every loaf has a home and nothing good goes to waste. Subscriptions let us do that: steady bread for steady customers — the thing we'd want as customers ourselves. As we steadily ramp up our baking, we'll open more spots — and soon after, the weekly menu (more on that just below). But the bread comes first, and our weekly regulars come first in line.
Camille's Bread & Bakes isn't only a bread subscription. The moment our weekly bread is running smoothly — our very next step — we open a weekly menu anyone can order from: cookies, pastries, inclusion loaves, and rotating specials, plus any extra bread from that week. Subscribers lock in guaranteed bread; the weekly menu is how everything else reaches you. It's a core part of the bakery — the subscription is simply how we're launching.
Made-to-order sourdough from certified-organic flour milled right here in North Carolina — we start with flour from Lindley Mills, a North Carolina mill grinding organic grain since 1755. Most of it is spoken for before it leaves the oven; any extra loaves are available in our weekly menu and at our shop. Leftovers at the end of the week go to the local food bank, never the trash.
You'll find us inside Sail Away Frame Shop in downtown Elizabeth City. We like the company of things made by hand and built to last — turns out artisan sourdough bread fits right in.
